I’m a Hammond, LA-based digital media developer that reports to New Orleans, and due to past state government work and volunteering, I’ve visited and documented every parish in the state. I was introduced to visual arts and computing at an early age, an illustrator on one hand and a child obsessed with the way Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code (BASIC) could make a computer do what you commanded it to.

In the mid 1990s, my interest in art and computing came together and I found myself spending every waking moment scanning line art to color digitally, or using a very early model Wacom digitizing pen to draw directly into the screen. I had been studying English at Southeastern Louisiana University, but eventually decided that my future career would be based on the machine I was sitting in front of.

I went on to study visual arts with a focus on digital design, and was part of the very first class of students to take part in the new study. In under two years I was working for my first Dot Com.

By the time I’d started working full time as a web developer, I was a print designer, animator, narrator, and creating digital music to use license-free in backgrounds for video and motion graphic projects.

I learned web and application development on a Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) stack, and went on to work in many others, such as ASP.NET and Cold Fusion under Drumbeat Server. I’m proficient in content and design inside of every popular content management system, from custom WordPress blogs to enterprise-level staff training and course administration, as well as content and helpdesk ticketing systems that are completely proprietary.

I have a professional career that spans publishing and printing, graphic design, animation, photography, videography, motion graphics, voiceover, as well as presenting and educating professionals about digital media. I have a long history of creating digital media for the state of Louisiana and the private sector via websites, social media, direct mail (digital press), online newsletters, and I’m always looking for the next emerging avenues of online communication.

I’ve worked on projects directly for three former Governors (Foster, Blanco, and Edwards), as well as internal media projects for companies such as Disney, ESPN, and Turner Industries. I’ve also worked directly with the Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Kim Hunter-Reed on numerous projects with quick turnaround times. I’ve done similar work for Commissioner Sally Clausen, Commissioner Joseph Savoie, and consulted Commissioner Jim Percell on job descriptions for proposed heads of college digital media and IT departments.

I’m currently the webmaster for two highly trafficked sites related to the Louisiana Department of Health, and also have administrative rights to work on the main LDH platform due to working with the site’s webmaster on several critical missions (including a complete redesign).

I have been emergency service-function (ESF) trained as an ESF-2 (phone operator) and ESF-8 (on-site hospital personnel) by GOHSEP.

I’m 100% mission-minded. I’ve worked overnight and through weekends to ensure the completion and quality of multiple last minute assignments with theoretically impossible deadlines. For clients, I meet and exceed contractual obligations, for Louisiana, I see it as my duty. I am efficient, but more importantly, I’m dedicated.
